Gmunden municipality obtains new trams from Vossloh
11 trams worth €30 million for Austria
Maintenance contract for 16 years
Shipments in 2015 and 2016

The transport company Stern & Hafferl has awarded Vossloh a contract for eleven trams to operate in the Upper Austrian town of Gmunden. The contract is worth some €30 million. Vossloh Electrical Systems, consortium head, will be supplying the complete electrics for the vehicles. The design and assembly of these bidirectional trams will be handled in Valencia by Vossloh Rail Vehicles. The first will be shipped to the town of Gmunden end of 2015. It was also agreed that for a period of 16 years Vossloh will be in charge of maintenance for the entire fleet.

The meter-gauge trams will have capacity for 183 passengers and a maximum speed of 70 km/h. The vehicles, Vossloh's V3 Tramlink, are modular high-duty units with the latest technology for optimum acceleration/deceleration, best-possible passenger comfort, and maximum safety.

Apart from the megaorder from Brazil placed with Vossloh in late 2012, the Group has already clinched Tramlink contracts in Spain and Germany. The move into the Austrian market is thus one more milestone along Vossloh AG's path of internationalizing its vehicle business.
