At his meeting with Romania’s Deputy Transportation Septimu Buzasu, Prof. Peiris discussed the proposal by Sri Lanka Railway to improve the condition of passenger coaches supplied by Romania.

Minister Fenechiu said more than 900 carriages supplied by Romania are at present in use in Sri Lanka, and explored with the Sri Lankan Minister avenues for refurbishment, as well as for the possible establishment of an assembly line in Sri Lanka.
